The Sea of Cortez side is the family side. Palmilla has one of the few genuinely swimmable bays in Los Cabos, calm enough for young swimmers most of the year, and Chileno Bay down the road is the easy snorkeling day. Villas del Mar and Palmilla homes put that water ten minutes from the pool.

The Pacific side, Pedregal included, trades swimmable surf for the big sunset and whale views from the terrace. Families with teenagers often prefer it; families with toddlers usually want the bay.
