Los Cabos Journeys

Real itineraries for real moments: the world's richest marlin tournament, the Baja 1000, the summer swell, the living reef, and the long slow week with the family. Planned end to end by your concierge.

The journeys

Planned end to end

The best trips are built around something. We build them around the marlin run, the swell, the race, and the people you bring.

These are not theme-park itineraries. Each one is built on something real that happens in Los Cabos, a tournament, a season, a reef, and planned down to the day by the concierge who will run it while you are here.

Pick the one that fits your dates and your crew, and we shape it around your villa, your pace, and the people at the table.

Rods and fighting chair on a sportfishing boat running out of Cabo San Lucas at sunrise

01 · Late October

Bisbee's Black & Blue

Tournament week in the marlin capital of the world.

Duration

6 days

Best for

Anglers and their crew

Season

October

Every October, Cabo San Lucas hosts Bisbee's Black & Blue, the richest billfish tournament in the world. In 2025 it paid out more than seven million dollars across some 177 teams, and the weigh station on the marina turns into the center of the sportfishing universe for a week. October is the magic month here: striped, blue, and black marlin are all in the water at once, along with tuna, dorado, and wahoo, drawn in close by the meeting of the Pacific and the Sea of Cortez.

We put your team on a proven boat with a proven captain, handle entries and the social calendar, and set you up in a villa with room for the whole crew. Whether you fish the Black & Blue itself or its warm-up, the Los Cabos Offshore the week before, you are in the middle of it.

1

Arrival and the lay of the water

A private transfer from the airport to your villa, then a quiet evening to settle in. Your captain joins you for a briefing over dinner, prepared in the villa by your chef, to talk grounds, bait, and the plan for the week.

2

A practice day offshore

A fun-fishing day to dial everything in: a run out to the Gordo Banks or the Golden Gate grounds, time to test the spread, read the bait, and get the crew working as a team before anything counts.

3

Registration and the kickoff

Tournament registration and the captain's meeting, then the opening party at the marina. If you are fishing the Los Cabos Offshore as a warm-up, today is a fishing day, with tuna and dorado jackpots in play alongside the billfish.

4-6

Tournament days

Lines in the water at first light, the run to the grounds, and three days of fishing for the fish that pays. Afternoons belong to the IGY marina weigh station, where the big blues and blacks come over the scale to a crowd, and the week closes with the awards gala.

A SCORE trophy truck on the malecon with the Sea of Cortez behind, Baja 1000

02 · Mid-November

The Baja 1000

The wildest desert race on earth, run from a villa.

Duration

5 days

Best for

Motorsport fans and adventurers

Season

November

The SCORE Baja 1000 is the most storied off-road race in the world, run every November down the Baja peninsula. In 2026 it makes history: for the first time ever, the race starts and finishes in Los Cabos, run entirely within Baja California Sur. The trucks, trophy trucks, and bikes that usually thunder past in the far north will roll through tech inspection and take the green flag right here.

We put you trackside for the spectacle, then into the desert it is run on. The same trails near Migriño and the old Candelaria route are yours to drive the rest of the year by Can-Am, so the adventure does not depend on race week alone.

1

Arrival

Settle into your villa and get the lay of the land. Your concierge maps the week around the race schedule, the contingency festival, and where to be for the start.

2

Contingency and tech

The pre-race festival, where the field rolls through technical inspection in town and the paddock opens up. Walk the trophy trucks, meet teams and crews, and feel the scale of the thing up close.

3

Race day

Trackside at the start at first light for the green flag, then a chase of a desert section by vehicle to watch the field fight the terrain. A long, loud, unforgettable day, ending back at the villa for a quiet dinner.

4

Drive the course

Your own private Can-Am expedition on the real trails near Migriño and the Candelaria route, desert and arroyo giving way to an empty Pacific beach. The race without the start line, at your own pace.

5

Recover and depart

A slow morning, the spa, and the finish-line celebration if the timing lines up, before your transfer back to the airport.

Surfer carving off the top of a backlit wave

03 · May to October

The Surf Trip

South swells, empty points, and a villa to come home to.

Duration

6 days

Best for

Surfers, every level

Season

Summer

Cabo's surf comes alive in summer, roughly May through October and best from June to August, when long south swells from the Southern Hemisphere wrap into the corridor and the East Cape. The Costa Azul cluster near San José holds Zippers, The Rock, and the mellow, longboard-friendly Old Man's, while a rougher drive up the East Cape opens onto the points at Shipwrecks and Nine Palms.

We pair you with a private guide who reads the swell each morning and puts you on the right break for your level, with a 4WD for the cape, boards to suit, and warm water from dawn to dark.

1

Arrival and an easy session

Settle in, then a gentle paddle-out at Old Man's to find your feet and fit your boards. An early dinner; the good sessions are at first light.

2

Costa Azul

Zippers and The Rock when they are pulsing, the fast right-hand reef that put Cabo on the surf map, then a longboard cruise back at Old Man's as the wind comes up. Lunch on the sand at Acapulquito.

3

Dawn on the East Cape

A 4WD run up the cape to Shipwrecks and Nine Palms, long empty walls over reef and point, your guide reading the tide. A palapa lunch and the road home along the Sea of Cortez.

4

A day off the board

Rest the shoulders: a snorkel at Cabo Pulmo, a spa afternoon at the villa, or simply the pool, with a short sunset session for anyone who cannot sit still.

5

Chase the swell

Wherever it is best that morning, your guide makes the call and you go. A water photographer can ride along to bring home the proof.

6

Last session and depart

One more at first light, then a slow breakfast and your transfer to the airport, salt still in your hair.

Beach and turquoise surf at Land's End, Cabo San Lucas
A dense school of bigeye jacks, the signature sight of the Cabo Pulmo reef

04 · December to April

Cabo Pulmo & the Whales

The aquarium of the world, above and below the surface.

Duration

5 days

Best for

Divers and ocean lovers

Season

Winter

Cabo Pulmo holds the only living hard-coral reef in the Gulf of California, a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of conservation's great comeback stories: protected since 1995, its fish life rebounded several times over within a decade. The reef teems with tornadoes of jacks, groupers, turtles, and mobula rays. Layer in the humpback whales that fill these waters from mid-December to mid-April, peaking January through March, and you have the Sea of Cortez at its richest.

We arrange permitted dives over the reef, whale mornings off Cabo San Lucas, and the long East Cape drive, with the right operators and the right timing so nothing is rushed.

1

Land's End

An easy first day at the tip: a snorkel at Pelican Rock and the Arch, the resident sea lion colony, and the underwater sandfall, then sunset from the water before dinner at the villa.

2

Cabo Pulmo

The East Cape drive to the marine park for two guided dives or snorkels over the living reef, among schooling fish and turtles, with lunch in the village of La Ribera. Access is permitted and rationed to protect the reef, which we handle in advance.

3

A morning with the humpbacks

In season, a morning on the water off Cabo San Lucas as the humpbacks breach and sing, close enough to hear them. The afternoon is yours at the villa.

4

Reef or open water

Return to Cabo Pulmo for more reef, or, for certified divers, a blue-water dive at the Gordo Banks seamount in search of schooling hammerheads. Families can trade the deep water for the calm snorkel coves at Chileno Bay.

5

Depart

A slow breakfast and your transfer to the airport.

A Los Cabos villa courtyard lit at dusk, ready for a family gathering

05 · Year-round

The Family Gathering

Three generations, one villa, zero logistics.

Duration

7 days

Best for

Multigenerational families and groups

Season

Year-round

A staffed villa, a private chef, and a week of days that work for grandparents and grandchildren alike. We balance gentle snorkel coves, one real adventure, a farm lunch, and plenty of unscheduled time by the pool, so the only thing anyone has to coordinate is when to eat.

Everything is arranged around your group: car seats and cribs, dietary needs, a babysitter for the adults' night out, and a pace that nobody has to apologize for.

1

Arrive and settle

A private transfer for everyone, the villa, the pool, and a welcome dinner cooked in the kitchen by your chef while the kids find the games room.

2

A calm snorkel cove

Chileno Bay or Santa María, the two shallow, protected Blue Flag coves on the corridor, ideal for first-time snorkelers and easy on the grandparents, with a beach club set up and waiting.

3

A canyon adventure

A Can-Am ride through Wild Canyon and across Mexico's largest hanging bridge for the older kids and the bold, while anyone who would rather relax takes the spa or the pool.

4

Flora Farms

A morning at the organic farm: a garden tour, the animals, wood-fired pizza and a long lunch at Flora's Field Kitchen with live music. Easygoing, and the dog is welcome too.

5

A day on the water

A private catamaran with snorkel stops and lunch aboard, or, in winter, a morning watching the humpbacks. Naps on the way home are encouraged.

6

Nothing at all

An open day. The chef runs a taco night, a film plays under the stars, and the only plan is the one nobody made.

7

Depart

A last swim, a slow breakfast, and transfers home for everyone.

Spa and wellness setting in a Los Cabos villa

06 · Year-round

The Slow Luxury Escape

Farm tables, mezcal, and long mornings with nowhere to be.

Duration

5 days

Best for

Couples and connoisseurs

Season

Year-round

The unhurried side of Los Cabos: Michelin-recognized farm tables at Flora Farms and Acre in the foothills above San José, the Thursday-evening art walk through the old town from November to June, and a private chef and sommelier who turn the villa into the best restaurant in town. Time it for December or February and you can fold in Sabor a Cabo, the region's marquee food and wine festival.

Spa treatments come to you, the days are short on plans and long on pleasure, and the only reservation that matters is the one your concierge has already made.

1

Arrive to a tasting

A private transfer, then a chef's tasting menu with wine pairings on the villa terrace as the sun goes down. Nothing else asked of you.

2

Flora Farms

A herbalist's walk through the gardens and a hands-on cooking class, then lunch at Flora's Field Kitchen. The afternoon is a spa treatment on the villa deck.

3

San José and the Art Walk

The historic art district by day, galleries and a long lunch, then the Thursday-evening Art Walk from November to June, streets closed to traffic, wine and live music among the studios.

4

Acre and mezcal

Lunch beneath the trees at Acre, whose kitchen holds a Michelin Green Star and whose mezcal program is among the best in Baja, followed by a sunset sail along the coast.

5

Depart

One last slow breakfast before your transfer to the airport.
