Labor Day in Cabo San Lucas

Ocean breezes, sand, water, and sun – Cabo San Lucas has it all for your Labor Day in Cabo San Lucas! Once you’ve worked on your tan and splashed around a bit in the sea, make sure to experience the many other activities in Cabo San Lucas.

Labor Day in Cabo San Lucas

Whether your trip is for the long Labor Day weekend or spans several days, you will definitely want to make time to hang out at the beautiful beaches of Cabo. Pack the cooler and your beach gear and prepare for fun on land or at sea. Sunbathe on the beach or take a walk along the sand with loved ones. When the weather’s right, you’ll want to take a dip in the Gulf of California or the Pacific Ocean, either for a swim or to explore the underwater world with a mask and snorkel. Take a lesson or rent some gear for activities in Cabo San Lucas like stand-up paddleboarding, snorkeling, or kayaking. You can even gather your group for a camelback ride down the beach.

The Arch

The distinctive rock formation at the southern tip of Cabo San Lucas is a must-see for visitors and locals alike. Locally known as “El Arco” meaning “the arch” or “Land’s End” in Spanish, it’s where the Pacific Ocean officially becomes the Gulf of California. The three-story tall arch was formed by natural erosion and is accessible by land and sea.

Snorkel and SCUBA Tours

The glistening waters off the shores of Cabo San Lucas are a wondrous place to explore. Tap one of the many companies in the area for tours that extend nature and wildlife viewing below the shimmering blue and green water. Get close to bottlenose dolphins, sharks, manatees, rays, sea turtles, and a variety of fish species. Ask about daytime or sunset tours, as well as gear rental for when you’ve built your confidence and want to strike out on your own.

Camelback Tours

Traverse the Baha Desert – atop a camel! The unique guided tour gives you the chance to discover the natural wonders and rich culture of the area. Meet your camel and hop on the hump for a 20-minute camel-ride “desert safari” of the area. The ride includes a visit to an EcoFarm, which includes a series of interactive experiences surrounding sustainability and conservation in the area. Add on extras like tequila tasting, a multi-course authentic Mexican lunch, or an authentic tortilla-making lesson! Ask about age, weight, and other restrictions before booking.

Hiking

Pack your hiking boots and other essentials and set out on foot to explore the place you’ve decided to call home this Labor Day. Cabo and the surrounding area are dotted with plenty of trails and places to explore where the best way to get around is on your own two feet. You’ll be able to explore to your heart’s content, since the sun’s intensity begins to back off heading toward fall and winter, making it perfect weather for a day on the trails. While you’re out in the wild, keep a lookout for local wildlife, including coyotes, deer, cactus wren, and other birds, if your trail takes you near the sea, whales, dolphins, seals, and sea lions.

Museo de Historia Natural

The newly remodeled museum was originally used to house the first primary school in the area, Articulo 12 Naciones Unidas. It now hosts a collection of permanent and temporary exhibits featuring paleontology, geology, paleo-biology, and paleoanthropology, including remains of marine mammals, birds, reptiles, and more. Tour the facility’s seven rooms and learn about the history of Cabo, the migration of various sea life, and even how sailors navigated the waters in Cabo’s early days.

Fishing

Fishing is an activity that has no age or skill requirement and can be a full-day or partial-day journey. There are several excursions to choose from, including inshore, nearshore, and deep-sea fishing. They also welcome young anglers and some offer lessons or rent gear for a more solitary time. Cast a line in search of your next meal in the form of marlin, Pacific Sailfish, tuna, roosterfish, and others you may not find swimming along the shores in the U.S. Ask your chosen company about night fishing or add an extra thrill when you go shark fishing.
