The year-round sun and warmth of Cabo is one of the main reasons you chose it as your next vacation destination. It is what makes it a great place for a getaway no matter what time of year you visit. The resort town also offers plenty of ways to pamper yourself, along with a myriad of activities, attractions, relaxation, and an abundance of other reasons to visit Cabo San Lucas.
1: Relaxation
Beach & Water Activities
There are many beaches in Cabo, and you’ll want to spend plenty of time at each of them. Lay out in the sun and work on your tan, swim, or enjoy many other water activities. Start your day with a run or blood-pumping walk on the beach or wrap up the day with a sunset stroll on the sand.
Cabo is about more than the beach and swimming close to shore. Strike out on the water with jet skis, kayaks, canoes, or stand up paddleboards. Up the adrenaline with unique activities like parasailing or grab a mask and snorkel to see what’s swimming with you on a SCUBA or snorkeling adventure. Don’t forget to include a visit to the iconic El Arco de Cabo San Lucas, the natural arch where the Pacific Ocean officially becomes the Gulf of California. The nearby beach also provides plenty of water and beach activity. Whatever your style of beach relaxation may be, Cabo has it!
Spa Day
Treat yourself to ultimate luxury and relaxation during your Cabo getaway. The resort town of Cabo has plenty of resort amenities, including day spas. Spoil yourself with ultimate relaxation and rejuvenation. Choose from a wide menu of services, including mani/pedis, facials, body wraps or scrubs, and more. Some provide services just for men that cater to their unique needs. You’ll end the day wrapped in luxury and relaxation, ready for another Cabo adventure, or to head home ready to tackle the day.
Private Yacht/Cruise
Experience even more luxury and relaxation on your Cabo vacation. Charter a private yacht for a day or longer and get the service of a hotel or staffed vacation rental while floating on the water. Yachts in our fleet are as small as two-bedroom, two-bathroom boats, and as large as five-bedroom, five-bathroom vessels.
Lay out in the sun and sunbathe on sun decks and enjoy meals around large tables outdoors in the beautiful Cabo weather. Drop anchor and take part in activities like swimming or ask about jet skis, kayaks, and the use of other water toys for a fun day out at sea. Take a cruise that includes a guided tour of the area’s important landmarks, or wildlife spotting, any time of day, including sunset.
2: Culture
Cookin’ Cabo
Part of the luxury of your Lux Mex villa is the staff that may be a part of your experience. Several of our homes are staffed by chefs, butlers, maids, and others to help make your trip as luxurious as possible. You can even add them to the experience at our villas that are not typically staffed.
The chef is there to make sure you enjoy the delicious flavors and foods you want, but chefs famously like to keep their recipes and dishes to themselves. That’s not the case with Cookin’ Cabo.
You’ll love to add a new meal to the menu back home, especially when it comes to your family’s favorite authentic Mexican flavors. Learn new kitchen and cooking skills with a cooking class and market tour. Learn to cook with the flavors, colors, and textures of Cabo cuisine. You’ll go shopping for the ingredients at a local market, then step into the kitchen of the local host chef for a hands-on lesson. You’ll create an authentic Mexican meal from scratch in a home kitchen setting. They’ll even give you the recipe, so you’ll have no problem replicating the dish once you’re home or passing it on to your personal chef at home. Book the experience online, and they’ll send you a confirmation with date, time, location, and the other information you’ll need.
Art Galleries
There are many art galleries throughout Cabo, each featuring pieces by local artists like sculpture, painting, and more. Browse their works or visit one of the many galleries that feature an interactive experience. Many buildings in the area, like the Museo de Historia Natural, aren’t labeled “art galleries,” but hold an extensive amount of Mexican art, pottery, sculpture, and more depicting some of the country’s best works of art.
Museo de Historia Natural
The natural history of an area is a great look into the art and culture that made an area some of what it is today. The museum was originally used to house Articulo 12 Naciones Unidas, the first primary school in Cabo. It now hosts a collection of permanent and temporary exhibits that display the paleontology, geology, paleo-biology, and paleoanthropology of Los Cabos. You can see the remains of marine mammals, birds, reptiles, and more. Tour the facility’s seven rooms and learn about the history of Cabo, the migration of various sea life, and even how sailors navigated the waters in Cabo’s early days.
3: Adventures
Hiking
The activity may not seem like a “luxury” activity, but it’s an adventure that needs to be on your To Do List no matter what other adventures you pursue. There is a myriad of trails where you can explore beyond the beach and its waters. Pack your sun gear, water, and camera and lace up your hiking shoes. Keep your eyes peeled and camera ready for glimpses of local wildlife in its natural habitat, along with other breathtaking sights. Make sure to share the trail, as many are great paths for bikers and horseback riders as well.
4: Tours
4×4 Baha Desert Tour
Hop on an ATV and explore the Migrino Desert’s sandy terrain as it twists along a winding route to area mountains. After, loop back for an experience of Cabo’s iconic beaches like no other. Contact your company of choice and book a private excursion. No matter which company you choose, trips include all the safety gear, off-roading equipment, and purified water to keep you hydrated through the journey. Park entry fees and insurance for your ride are separate fees.
Desert Camelback Ride
Some beach towns offer a tour down the beach on horseback, but Los Cabos and its beach and desert atmosphere can offer a slightly different experience. You’ll still sit atop an animal, but that animal will be a camel! Many companies offer a four-hour private excursion, so you can blaze the trails with just you, your guide, and your loved ones.
Choose from morning and afternoon departures on the journey that wanders through the Baha Desert as well as the Cabo countryside. You’ll learn about area flora, fauna, and culture. A stop before heading back offers a chance for an authentic Mexican lunch complete with tequila, tortilla-making, and more.
Private Helicopter Tour
If you’re hopping to get a bird’s eye view from the safety of an enclosed vehicle, head up into the sky on a private helicopter tour. You’ll get 360-degree panoramic views of some of Cabo’s most well-known landmarks. Get pictures of The Arch, Baja Peninsula beaches, world class resorts, and other landmarks.
Your pilot is also a knowledgeable guide who will point out these landmarks and give you some inside information the guidebooks may not offer. Tours typically range from 20-40 minutes in length.
5: Activities
Sandboarding
You may have heard of snowboarding for your winter vacation, and you wouldn’t be too far off if you think sandboarding is similar. It’s technically a blend of surfing, skateboarding, and snowboarding. Much like a snowboard, you strap yourself onto the board, but instead of cruising down a snow-covered mountain, you’ll cruise down the beautiful sand dunes of nearby La Paz.
Golf
Cabo has beautiful weather no matter what time of year you visit. The lack of rain, snow, or other weather events on a regular basis means outdoor activities almost never stop due to weather. If you have golfers in your traveling group, they’ll want to add a round or two at some of the world’s best golf courses. Some of these courses were designed by golf legends, including Jack Nicklaus and Greg Norman. For some of the most luxurious golf experiences, they’ll want to make tee times at courses like Cabo Del Sol Ocean Course, Puerto Los Cabos Resort, Club Campestre, or Diamante’s Dunes Course.
6: Fishing
Anglers will find luxury during a luxury Cabo vacation. You can charter a private luxury tour for you and your closest fishing buddies. Cabo is known as “The Striped Marlin Capital of the World.” There have been years when captains recorded over 50 striped marlin releases a day! If you’re lucky enough to see one during its “acrobatic routine” of jumping out of the water, let alone hook one, watch for its stripes to light up in shades of violet. Other billfish you can expect to hook include Pacific sailfish, blue and black marlin, tuna, dorado, yellowfin, and others. Shark fishing and night fishing are also adrenaline-filled options that often take place in the deeper waters of the Gulf or ocean.
Cabo fishing is more than heading out to sea. There are inshore opportunities where you can hope to hook roosterfish weighing up to 100 pounds, as well as species like sierra mackerel, jack crevalle, hogfish, wahoo, and more. Take things out into the water a little further with ‘nearshore’ adventures that take you out between ‘inshore’ and deep sea. It’s a unique environment where you’ll find sea life that favors water closer to shore and further out. For truly serene fishing conditions, try surf fishing from shore, or fly fishing in inland waters.
7: Shopping
You can kick back and relax on your Cabo retreat and even let someone else do the shopping. Ask about grocery provisioning and delivery so you don’t have to waste precious activity time stocking up. While you can pass off the mundane task of grocery shopping to someone else, you’ll want to do some shopping of your own for awesome Cabo souvenirs. You may pick some up during your jam-packed schedule of activities, but wandering the shops may score you authentic, one-of-a-kind items you won’t find anywhere else.
8: Dining
There are a variety of dining options when it comes to Cabo. Fine dining experiences are available for every meal of the day, along with more casual or quick options. These restaurants also offer a variety of delicious dishes, like seafood, authentic Mexican, American, Asian, Italian, and more. You’re sure to find something to please the palate of everyone in your traveling group. Take advantage of our concierge services to book reservations.
9: Weather
Cabo has nearly perfect weather, whenever you want to come for a visit. Come during the fall months for highs in the mid-90s to mid-80s and lows in the 70s. It makes a great winter escape, with highs in the upper 70s and low 80s and lows in high 50s. Spring temps begin to climb toward summer heat, with highs in the mid-80s to mid-90s and lows in the 60s.
