Fall Trip to Los Cabos

Ocean breezes, sand, water, sun, and a year-round warm climate – Cabo San Lucas has it all for your fall escape! There is a myriad of activities you’ll want to make part of your Los Cabos Fall Trip, both indoors and outdoors to create a one-of-a-kind Cabo experience this fall for you and your loved ones. Start by booking a vacation rental with LuxMex and ask about including the whole family and booking a pet-friendly rental.

Cabo San Lucas Fall Activities

No matter how long your fall getaway lasts, you’ll definitely want to make time to hang out at the beautiful beaches of Cabo. Pack the cooler and your beach gear and prepare for fun on land or sea. Sunbathe on the beach, take a walk or run along the sand, or help the kids of the group build sandcastles. When the weather’s right, you’ll want to take a dip in the Gulf of California or the Pacific Ocean, either for a swim or to explore the underwater world with a mask and snorkel. Take a lesson or rent some gear for activities like stand up paddleboarding, snorkeling, or kayaking. You can even gather your group for a camelback ride or 4×4 adventure down the beach!

El Arco De Cabo San Lucas

The distinctive rock formation at the southern tip of Cabo San Lucas is a must-see for visitors, and you’ll likely find some locals there, too. Land’s End, locally known as “El Arco,” meaning “the arch” in Spanish, is the spot where the Pacific Ocean officially becomes the Gulf of California. The three-story tall natural arch was formed by erosion and is accessible by land and sea.

SNORKEL AND SCUBA TOURS

The glistening waters off the shores of Cabo are a wondrous place to explore. Tap one of the many charter companies in the area for tours that extend nature and wildlife viewing below the shimmering blue and green water surrounding the area. Get close to bottlenose dolphins, sharks, manatees, rays, sea turtles and a variety of fish species that call the waters of Cabo home. Ask about daytime or sunset tours, as well as gear rental for when you’ve built your confidence and want to strike out on your own.

CAMELBACK TOURS

Traverse the Baha Desert in a way you may not have thought of – on camelback! The unique guided tour gives you the chance to discover the natural wonders and rich culture of the area. Depending on the company, the ride can last a brief 20 minutes, or longer. Add on extras like tequila tasting, a multi-course authentic Mexican lunch, or an authentic tortilla-making lesson! Be prepared to provide age, weight, and height of riders for the proper pairing with appropriate camels.

FISHING

Fishing is an activity that has no age or skill requirement and can be a full-day or partial day activity during your fall journey to Cabo. There are several excursions to choose from, including inshore, nearshore, and deep sea fishing. Many charter companies also welcome young anglers and some offer lessons or rent gear for a more solitary time outside of their planned excursions. Cast a line in search of your next meal in the form of marlin, Pacific Sailfish, tuna, roosterfish, and many others you may not find swimming along the shores back home. Ask your chosen company about night fishing or add an extra thrill when you go shark fishing.

HIKING

Pack your hiking boots and other essentials and set out on foot to explore the place you’ve decided to call home for a short time this fall. Cabo and the surrounding area are dotted with a myriad of trails and places to explore where the best way to get around is your own two feet. Explore to your heart’s content, since the sun’s intensity begins to back off heading in the fall and winter months, making it perfect weather for a day on the trails. While you’re out in the wild, keep a lookout for local wildlife, including coyotes, deer, cactus wren, and other birds. If your trail takes you near the sea, whales, dolphins, seals, and sea lions can often be spotted.

MUSEO DE HISTORIA NATURAL

The museum was originally used to house the first primary school in the area, Articulo 12 Naciones Unidas. It now hosts a collection of permanent and temporary exhibits featuring the paleontology, geology, paleo-biology, and paleoanthropology of Los Cabos, including remains of marine mammals, birds, reptiles, and more. Tour the facility’s seven rooms and learn about the history of Cabo, the migration of various sea life, and even how sailors navigated the waters in Cabo’s early days.
