Packing for a Trip to Cabo San Lucas: What to Bring

HomeActivitiesCabo San Lucas Tourist InformationPacking for a Trip to Cabo San Lucas: What to Bring

You decided to take a break from your hectic schedule back home in favor of a relaxing vacation. Set your sights on Cabo and its never-ending supply of sand, sun, water, and fun. Make sure you pack all of your essentials before leaving home and make a list of the things you’ll buy once you arrive. These are some of the most important items, but make sure to follow this guide to packing for a trip to Cabo for your personal vacation needs.

Clothing

The year-round sun and warmth of Cabo means your clothes Cabo San Lucas packing list can likely remain in the category of “warm weather” clothes. Winter highs can climb into the upper-70s and low-80s and lows dip down to the low-60s and high-50s, so pack some light layers to combat the chill. Summer highs reach the 100s and lows are in the mid- to upper-70s. If you’re planning a special date, make sure to pack what you plan to wear.

Swimwear

Don’t forget your swimwear! Cabo has plenty of beach and water activities you’ll want to take part in, so pack a swimsuit or two. From swimming to jet skis or kayaking, or just sunning on the beach, there are plenty of opportunities. Combat the summer heat and intense sun with hats, sunglasses, and beach cover-ups.

Footwear

You’ll want water shoes, flip-flops, or some sort of sport sandal for most of your outdoor beach activities. Pack some dressy sandals or shoes for a special date, as well as comfortable shoes for walking around.

Toiletries

You can ask us about the starter amenities we provide upon your arrival. We offer these so your first stop doesn’t have to be the grocery store. You’ll still want personal toiletry items like your toothbrush, grooming essentials, and any prescription medications. You can pick up larger bottles of liquids like mouthwash or reef-safe sunscreen (it doesn’t bleach coral and is better for the environment) once you’re here.

Water Bottle

Just like you may send your kids to school with a refillable water bottle, it’s a good idea to bring one on your Cabo vacation. “Don’t drink the water” is a serious rule, so you’ll want something to have plenty of pure, refreshing drinking water during the day.

Electronics

If you’re coming from other North American countries like the U.S. or Canada, your plugs are compatible. For those times when you’re on the go all day and not near a power outlet, you’ll want a portable charger that can slip into a pocket or bag.
